Jeanelle Angus grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida, and has been in Massachusetts since March 7, 2018. Jeanelle’s passion includes advocating for the vulnerable and marginalized communities. While in Florida, Jeanelle was an active member of the community and served as a motivational speaker at the Florence DeGeorge Boys and Girls Club.
Jeanelle is also the Founder of The Angus Effect, where she specializes in education, leadership, career readiness, diversity, and inclusion consulting to individuals and corporations. Jeanelle helps and assists young adults and high school seniors in discovering their strengths by providing career readiness assessments, leadership training, motivational speaking, academic guidance, and financial literacy education. In 2017, Jeanelle graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art, concentrating in pre-law, Sociology, and women’s studies. In 2020, Jeanelle also completed her MPA with a concentration in policy analysis at Northeastern University. Given Jeanelle’s passion for justice and equity, during her senior year as an undergraduate, she published “A Race and Power Perspective on Police Brutality in America,” which examines police brutality and its impact on minorities, an area of law she plans to practice. In addition, Jeanelle has worked in a law firm for three years, on Mitt Romney’s Presidential Campaign during the 2008 Election, and for numerous nonprofits, including the Epilepsy Foundation. At the age of twelve, Jeanelle discovered her passion for law and has been constantly pursuing her dreams ever since.
Currently, Jeanelle is a law student, and upon graduating, she plans to specialize in civil rights, intellectual property, police brutality, immigration, education, and contract law. Her role models include Shaun King, Stacey Abrams, Ayanna Pressley, Michelle Obama, and Michael Eric Dyson, who are not only strong advocates but also great community leaders. In the end, Jeanelle plans to become a Congresswoman or a Judge and to start her own practice.
In her spare time, Jeanelle enjoys writing poems, learning history, traveling, skiing, playing tennis and basketball, swimming, attending concerts, and going to the beach.
